Melanated
Elevated
Consecrated to
Never be underrated.

I walk in legacy—
         A deepest royalty
Crowned in His-tory
        Heaven in bronze skin.

Wordsmith
Truth-speak
Love anchored to
Never be dismissed.

You’ll see my melanin
         All wrapped in feminine 
A gift complexing 
         His love is speaking.

Gifted
Lifted
Firm-footed to 
Never be shifted.

I have no apologies
       For being a protégé
In so encouraging
       The world to savor Him.
